Easy Christmas Craft

Ingredients: fleece or felt scraps, needle, thread

Yields: One floaty fleece tree

Fleece Christmas Dangly

  1. Cut fleece or felt scraps into a series of circles, each slightly smaller than the previous. I started with a circle about 2″ in diameter and ended with one about 1/2″ across.
  2. Thread a needle with coordinating thread, and tie a knot at the end.
  3. Push the needle through the center of the largest circle.
  4. Tie another knot in the thread, about an inch above the circle you just added.
  5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 with each smaller circle until you have a full fleecy tree.
  6. Hang from your window, lamps, or as a Christmas ornament.

Our Christmas Houseplant

Afro Christmas Tree

We decided not to get a Christmas tree, and instead Ryder suggested we dress up our shamrock. So this is our houseplant-turned-Christmas-tree. We think it looks rather like a green-haired hippie at the barbershop.

Colorado: The People

These are not actually photos of Coloradans, for the most part – just the people we hung out with in Colorado.
Mitch & Diana

Okay, they are Coloradans. Diana & Mitch, wedding #1 of the trip.

Colorado: The Vistas

Looking out at the mountains from the tundra, off Trail Ridge Road.

Colorado: The Details

Ryder and I got to spend about 10 days in Colorado last month. First, some of the details:

Tree roots

Gnarled roots. We saw a lot of these, and I really liked them.

Aspen leaves & their shadows

Aspen trees, their yellow leaves, and their shadows.

Tree stump

A bright red tree stump – burnt perhaps? Or naturally colored? We saw a lot of these bright red exposed tree insides.

Twisted tree

Another anomaly – distinctly twisted tree trunks. I speculated that this was caused by wind, but that’s just a guess.

Next up, Colorado: The Vistas
