Michigan in the summer of ‘08

Unlike every other year of my life, this summer I spent just a few days in the state of Michigan as opposed to just a few days out of the state of Michigan.

First was Cheri & Darren’s wedding, where I got to see lots of my college friends (see all the pictures):

The rest of the weekend was spent seeing family & more college friends and reminiscing about the good ol’ days in Grand Rapids (see a few more pictures)…

Happy 4th Birthday to my gmail account

Four years ago yesterday, I got my first Gmail account. Back then it was really cool to have Gmail, because you could only get in by invitation, and each person only had a few invitations to give away. I still think it’s really cool, even though it’s not that exciting anymore. I was trying to figure out how long I have had any email address, and I don’t know exactly, but I did find something that says I last updated my yahoo profile in 2000. So it’s been at least 8 years since I’ve had an email address, but I would guess it’s been even longer than that, since we first got internet at our house 10 or so years ago. Now I wonder how many emails I’ve sent over my life… Assuming I’ve had an email address for 8 years, that’s 2920 days. I would guess I send, on average over those 8 years, 2-3 emails per day. Currently it’s a lot more than that, but I’m sure at the beginning it was not that much. So that brings us to the grand total of 7300 emails. Interesting. And probably completely inaccurate.

Super Spinning

Back when Ryder and I went to the Botanical Gardens, we had lots of fun playing with a huge rock that you could spin around. I can’t take video with my camera, but I can take lots of pictures in rapid succession:

Seeing Seattle in the Sunshine

That’s right, the sun actually shone on us while in Seattle. After celebrating Scott and Jen’s wedding, we spent the rest of the weekend eating at Denny’s, walking around downtown, and seeing how many people we could fit into kindly loaned cars. see all the pictures
