{"id":60,"date":"2007-09-29T22:49:00","date_gmt":"2007-09-29T22:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/blog\/?p=60"},"modified":"2007-09-29T22:49:00","modified_gmt":"2007-09-29T22:49:00","slug":"a-friendly-sign-up-form","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/blog\/a-friendly-sign-up-form\/","title":{"rendered":"A friendly sign-up form"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While signing up for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpgmag.com\">jpg magazine<\/a>, I caught myself actually laughing out loud while filling out the form:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/good-signin.gif\" style=\"border: 1px solid #333333;\" alt=\"image\" width=\"437\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As I filled out each line, the little messages in green appeared, confirming that I was entering valid information.  Much friendlier than other sign up forms that give you an angry pop-up message when you try to submit the form, telling you your username is taken or your email address is invalid.  In fact, I&#8217;ve <i>created<\/i> sign up forms that either pop-up error messages, or at least show the errors at the top of the page <i>after<\/i> you try to submit the form.  This way is much nicer, though, because you know as you go along whether or not your information will be accepted.
