First up was a visit to the Palo Alto Baylands Park and the adjoining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofpaloalto.org\/news\/displaynews.asp?NewsID=102&amp;TargetID=14\" target=\"_blank\">Byxbee Park<\/a>. The Baylands park itself wasn&#8217;t much more than a Duck Pond and some trails among the marshes, but Byxbee Park was a bit more interesting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/photos\/byxbee-park\/IMG_3478\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/photos\/var\/resizes\/byxbee-park\/IMG_3478.JPG?m=1365380608\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pole Field is an art installation featuring poles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/photos\/byxbee-park\/IMG_3424\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"Byxbee park\" src=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/photos\/var\/resizes\/byxbee-park\/IMG_3424.JPG?m=1365380592\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This park is on top of an old city dump, and it&#8217;s an odd mish-mash of clearly man-made landforms, public art installations like this one, and marshy fields.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/photos\/byxbee-park\/IMG_3472\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"Byxbee park, overlooking the bay\" src=\"http:\/\/www.emilywinck.com\/photos\/var\/resizes\/byxbee-park\/IMG_3472.JPG?m=1365380599\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The park edges the Bay, and we had a nice view across it, as well as of a bunch of shorebirds, and a few windsurfers.
