Four years ago yesterday, I got my first Gmail account. Back then it was really cool to have Gmail, because you could only get in by invitation, and each person only had a few invitations to give away. I still think it’s really cool, even though it’s not that<\/i> exciting anymore. I was trying to figure out how long I have had any email address, and I don’t know exactly, but I did find something that says I last updated my yahoo profile in 2000. So it’s been at least 8 years since I’ve had an email address, but I would guess it’s been even longer than that, since we first got internet at our house 10 or so years ago. Now I wonder how many emails I’ve sent over my life… Assuming I’ve had an email address for 8 years, that’s 2920 days. I would guess I send, on average over those 8 years, 2-3 emails per day. Currently it’s a lot more than that, but I’m sure at the beginning it was not that much. So that brings us to the grand total of 7300 emails. Interesting.
