Winck is a somewhat unusual family name. There are no more male Winck members in my family as the boys all had girls and the girls of course changed their names with marriage.
I am curious to know where your Winck family originated. Perhaps this is your married name and your husband will know the answers. All Wincks I know of, are related to me and I was surprised to find some others. There was a famous painter back in the 1700s with that name that I found on the internet and later found a painting in a gallery. Thanks. Peggy Case

It would be fun to use the shadows from the gate as a sort of Stonehenge. What time is it when the shadows fall exactly on the lines of the brick? How much does that lining up move every day? Hmm!

Your post reminds me of the song Shadows by David Crowder. I heard it for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I really like it. I really like your picture too! :) Miss you!

I know you can maintain two blogs. Plus, I have just updated my bookmarks toolbar, so that I can hopefully visit them both more regularly. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't find your blog today when I tried accessing it from my bookmarks toolbar. So, I googled Emily Brondsema and couldn't come up with it that way either. Alas, I guess I'm getting old. Of course, you are Emily Winck now and have been for a year and 7 months already. How time flies!
